MBRACE outdoor seating by Sebastian Herkner for Dedon

[ad_1]

Dezeen Showroom: German designer Sebastian Herkner worked with furniture brand Dedon on a versatile collection of outdoor seating solutions designed to be used both indoors and outdoors.

The MBRACE range encompasses a range of 12 distinct seating designs including laid back lounge chairs, armchairs, daybeds and rocking chairs as well as upright dining chairs.

The chairs are made from teak and woven outdoor fibre

All feature a woven seat made from a weather-resistant fibre manufactured by Dedon that remains comfortable in any season, according to the brand.

“I wanted to use the traditional technique of weaving to create a strong design that was like a gesture – the gesture of embracing someone,” explained Herkner.

Tables and footstools also feature in the collection

MBRACE seating comes in six seat colourways, designed by Herkner in collaboration with renowned colourist Giulio Ridolfo.

Its frame can be rendered in four finishes that include teak wood and aluminium, which is powder-coated to create a finish that is durable and easy to maintain.

Comfortable cushions line the seats

A total of 70 different seat and frame combinations can be achieved, allowing the chairs to blend seamlessly into a range of design schemes. For added comfort, optional seat and back cushions are available that were designed to envelop the user.

Beyond outdoor seating, the MBRACE collection also features matching coffee and side tables as well as a footstool. The pieces in the collection are suitable for use across private and public settings, both inside and outside.
