Women in Business Day is Thursday, September 22. What a great time for you to celebrate women entrepreneurs and for us to introduce our newest product line: Giving Tree
Since our beginning in 1997, GiftTree has sought out best-in-class products for our gift baskets. Many of the hidden gems we’ve uncovered happen to come from women-owned businesses. So, in recent years, when we’ve had requests from our corporate customers for custom gift baskets that feature products from women-owned businesses, it’s been easy to fulfill that request. And compelling.
We realized that we have a tremendous opportunity to bring to light under-represented small business owners as well as small business owners who champion meaningful causes—the changemakers who are making the world a better place. And that many of our customers want to be a part of that movement. The idea grew into Giving Tree—gifts that give back.
Our Giving Tree collection is all about great gifts for good causes. These gorgeous gift boxes feature hidden gems that have amazing people—with amazing stories—behind them.
For example, we met Kathy at the local farmer’s market. To earn some extra income, she created a line of goat’s milk self-care products; that pursuit has grown into a thriving family business. There’s Deborah, who developed her college cookies-for-classmates side hustle into a full-scale commercial bakery featuring delicious, natural-ingredient cookies. Further, her company strives to empower woman and immigrants by providing jobs that include skill development. And Diana, who aspires to build bridges by sharing her culture through healthful date snacks while giving back to an organization that supports refugees—like she once was.
These are just some of the impressive people we’ve met along the way. We believe both their inspiring success stories and their best-in-class products are important to share. We’re putting on the finishing touches so that our brand-new Giving Tree collection will be ready to debut in early fall!

In addition to recognizing the individual women in business you know on September 22, here are more ways you can support women in business beyond a single day:
- Stop at the lemonade stand, the bead bracelet table, the bake sale, or wherever else you see aspiring young entrepreneurs.
- Offer to mentor junior team members at your workplace.
- Donate gently used business wear to an organization that helps women entering the workforce put their best foot forward.
- Seek out a nearby restaurant led by a woman chef.
- When you get bids for a project, make sure at least one comes from a women-owned business.
- If you’re invited to join a roundtable or are registering to listen to a panel discussion, let the organizer know that inclusive representation matters.
