Freedom x Kvadrat collection by Humanscale
[ad_1]
Dezeen Showroom: workplace brand Humanscale has released the first piece of furniture as part of its new partnership with Kvadrat, bringing the brand’s textiles to its Freedom office chairs.
The Freedom x Kvadrat collection debuts the nine textiles chosen for the partnership, including Vanir, a woollen military coat-inspired fabric designed by Raf Simons, and Elle, a bouclé style by Sahco Upholstery.
The textiles are being made available for the Freedom task chair, which Humanscale considers one of its classics. Created by designer Niels Diffrient in 1999, it eliminated manual controls in favour of self-adjusting mechanisms that respond to the sitter’s body weight.
The Kvadrat fabrics are also available to other seating in the Freedom family — the guest chairs or active sitting chairs Saddle and Pony — and will be coming to other Humanscale products in the coming months.
Humanscale said the Kvadrat x Freedom collection aimed to merge the purposeful expression of colour, texture and pattern with the ethos of ergonomic wellness and engineered inclusivity.
“Our shared values of design innovation, longevity and sustainability make this partnership a perfect fit,” said Humanscale creative director Todd Bracher.
