Selena Gomez’s New Bob and Bangs Mean Messy Hair Will Be a Big Summer Trend – Photo

Just when I thought we got all the good Selena Gomez news we could handle in a single week, our cup runneth over. First, the trailer for the second season of Hulu’s Only Murders In the Building — literally the only new show I got into last year because I can’t think of a better trio than Selena Gomez flanked by Steve Martin and Martin Short — was released along with the promise of a June 28 premiere. And then, as if that weren’t enough, the actor, singer, and beauty brand founder got the cutest damn haircut in all the land.

Gomez is no stranger to bobs — she clearly loves them and regularly returns to sleek, blunt, chin-length styles after either growing her hair out a bit or wearing extensions for an event or photoshoot. But the latest iteration of her go-to short style breaks from the norm with a couple of unexpected twists.

“New hair who dis?” Gomez wrote in the caption of a selfie she shared to Instagram on March 31. (Why is it so much less corny when she says that compared to when I do? It’s honestly not fair.) The portrait of her new bob makes a strong argument for letting the wind style your hair if Orlando Pita isn’t available because it’s giving glamorously messy chicness. The wavy style seems to have layers — a few pieces look longer than others — and Gomez is also welcoming back bangs for the first time in a while.
