The chair is designed by Formway for use in the modern home and, as its name suggests, is intended to be “featherlight” so it is easily moved around.
“Lightly chairs are designed for the modern home, where life can go from peaceful to chaotic in an instant,” said Noho.
The chairs have curved backs and contoured seats and can be stacked ten high in just over one metre.
They are available in five colours, which are named Ironsand Black, Stone Gray, Mist Off-white, Glacier Blue and Sunshine Yellow, to cater for use in a range of homes.
Lightly is made from EcoPAXX nylon in an attempt to achieve a lower carbon footprint than if had been made using fossil fuel-based alternatives.
“We’re at a point where we can start to move past fossil fuel-based plastic and rely more on what renewable materials have to offer,” said Formway’s lead designer Chris Bisman.
“The responsibility for us, the people using these materials, is to only use them in long-lasting, functional products that people will cherish for life.”
