Up on that stage, the manicure sang its praise to several current nail trends as well. We’re talking red nail theory, the ombré French, hints of gold chrome, and diamond embellishments. Ishizu gave the red and midnight-purple colorway a glaring contrast by placing pieces of tiny gold foil directly atop a final coat of OPI’s GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat. As for the base of the nails, Ishizu hand-drew a few blue dots and white dainty lines.
From the neck down, though, the People’s Champion honoree truly was a vision in blue. All the hues incorporated in her manicure translated into her Alexander McQueen gown. Tangy red embroidery hemmed the bodice and cobalt blue accentuated the train of the dress. Ishizu’s final touch of gold flakes complemented Lizzo’s gold jewelry and hair accessories laced within her stellar fauxhawk.
