may 7-8 open garden, and 30-plus events for ‘the workshop experience weekend’

[ad_1]

MORE THAN 30 events listed and linked below are part of The Workshop Experience Weekend, scheduled for May 7-8, 2022, in and around Hillsdale, NY. My garden and those of two nearby friends will be open on the 7th as part of this big collaboration with many talented friends and neighbors, including Tiny Hearts Farm (organic flower farmer-florists), with a dahlia class, flower-arranging how-to and more.

Beloved Broken Arrow Nursery will hold a plant sale in my driveway, including the chance to pre-order for pickup on Saturday the 7th at my place.

Other garden- and nature-related headliners: Rebecca McMackin, the celebrated ecological landscape designer who has led the creation of Brooklyn Bridge Park (giving a pollinator-garden talk); Chris Roddick, longtime head arborist at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (with a tree walk); and Annie Novak of New York Botanical Garden’s Edible Academy (with a soil and composting class). John Michelotti of Catskill Fungi will lead a mushroom walk, and give a growing class, too.

Our organizing group, called the Hillsdale Workshop Alliance, has put together a packed schedule of workshops with experts in crafting, writing, cooking (thanks to nearby HGS Home Chef cooking school and shop), and more–with topics as wide-ranging as dance, yoga, podcasting, blacksmithing, terrariums, weaving…you get the idea! Browse the entire program below, or visit TheWorkshopExperience.org.

Why not get some tickets now and make a day (or weekend) of it?
