Sfera bowl by Alexander Lotersztain for Derlot

[ad_1]

Dezeen Showroom: furniture brand Derlot worked with Australian designer Alexander Lotersztain on a series of versatile vessels that double as both convenient bowls and sculptural objects.

Sfera subverts the levelness of traditional bowls by giving the vessel a tilted profile that holds contents at an angle, presenting them as well as containing them.

Bowls can be used for food or other items

The bowls can be used for both culinary and general household uses, from food presentation at the dinner table or as handy storage for desk supplies.

“The Sfera collection plays with our routine perspective, tilting the balance in unexpected ways,” said Derlot. “In addition to being a sculptural object, Sfera has any number of practical applications: a key holder, a place to put coins or bunches of fruit.”

The bowls come in a range of sizes to suit different functions and areas of the home.

Finishes include powder-coated matt steel colours – white, grey, black and Wedgewood blue – or polished chrome and gold finishes.
