Google Play Games for PC brings popular Android games to PCs, and the beta version of the app saw a successful launch in a few regions. The service later made its way to Japan, and is now expanding to Europe and New Zealand as part of a wider rollout.
The Google Play Games beta arrived in 42 new countries on Wednesday, bringing the total count up to 56. Previously, this service was only available to users in countries including the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Google Play Games to Reach More Gamers
Google Play Games makes it possible to play popular mobile games on PCs, allowing users to game on smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Currently, the service offers over 100 Android games, including Asphalt 9, Homescapes, Last Fortress, Blade Idle, Cookie Run: Kingdom, and 1945: Air Force.
Google plans to add more games in the future in an effort to expand its portfolio. Last November, Google stated that it is preparing for a full release and will continue to add more features to the service.
“We’re thrilled to expand our platform to more markets for players to enjoy their favorite games on Google Play. As we move towards a full release, we will continue to add new features and evaluate developer and player feedback,” Google said in a statement.
Google Play Games PC Requirements
To run the gaming service on your PC, all you will need is a computer with Windows 10 or newer, an Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU, a 4-core CPU, at least 8GB RAM, and an SSD.
You’ll also require admin access for Windows and enable hardware virtualization. For the best gaming experience, Google recommends a gaming GPU such as Nvidia’s GeForce MX450 and newer.
If the Google Play Games for PC hasn’t reached your country yet, there are always other ways to enjoy Android games on Windows. For instance, Amazon’s store offers a variety of Android games to play on your PC.
