The first official cases of the coronavirus were confirmed at the end of last year in China, and since then it has spread like wildfire. It was declared a pandemic on the 11th of March by WHO. Countries all around the world have been affected by the coronavirus and have resorted to following lockdowns. More than 5 million people have been infected globally, and more than 330,000 people have lost their lives. The USA is the hardest-hit country in the world and has reported more than 1.6 million infections of coronavirus and confirmed that more than 96,000 Americans have lost their lives. Coronavirus belongs to a family of viruses. Covid-19 is a new strand of these viruses that we do not have a vaccine for. It is believed to have jumped from pangolins and bats to the human species.
