Salman Khan Net Worth, Personal Life, Family, Career, Assets & More | 2020 Update!

Salman Khan is a name that you have definitely heard of. He is one of the biggest names in Bollywood, and he is one of the highest-paid actors in the world. His films are very popular within the subcontinent and tend to attract large crowds that cannot wait to see their favorite movie star in an action-filled sequence. Salman Khan has appeared in over a hundred films in his glittering career that has spanned over 3 decades. He is probably the biggest star in terms of the box office for Bollywood, and the popularity his films bring is unmatched even by some world-class actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.

Salman Khan’s acting style allows him to appear in films that have great entertainment value and are full of action, throughout the movie. He began his career with Biwi Ho Tou Aisi and then Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 and was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and also won the Filmfare Award for the Best Male Debut. The ’90s were very kind to Khan as he continued to appear in several films that went on to be great hits. The romantic drama Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! was a big hit in the subcontinent. This was followed by great performances in cult-status films like Karan Arjun in 1995 and Biwi No.1 in 1999. He also picked up a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Aman Mehra in Karan Johar’s romantic classic, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, alongside Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerjee and Kajol. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was the highest ever grossing film upon its release in Bollywood until the release of Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Khan continued to rack up the numbers by featuring as the lead or supporting actor in dozens of films after the turn of the century, as well. His performance as Radhe Mohan in Tere Naam earned him another nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actor and in the same year a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Alok Raj Malhotra in Baghban. However, Khan’s commercial success dipped in the 2000s despite performing well in several feature films.

This dip was not considered to be a big problem as he came with a bang in Dabangg in 2010. His performance as Chulbul Pandey earned him another nomination for a Filmfare Award but it was the commercial success that made the headlines. It became the highest opener in the box office and grossed over $20 million. Dabangg was the beginning of the stardom that Salman Khan was about to achieve. He went on to appear in commercial hits like Ready, Ek Tha Tiger, Kick, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. These were followed by sequels of Dabangg; Dabangg 2 and Dabangg 3. This meant that Salman Khan has featured in eight films that have gone on to gross over Rs. 100 crore ($14M), which is an unmatched record of Salman Khan and one that is not likely to be broken any time soon.

Net Worth of Salman Khan:

Salman Khan’s net worth varies from around $230 million to $300 million. This comes as no surprise given the fact that he has featured in commercially successful films over the years on top of his avidly watched reality TV show Bigg Boss and 10 ka Dam. He was also the highest-ranked Indian actor in the Forbes List of 100 Top-Paid Celebrities by occupying the number 82 with earnings of almost $37.7 million in 2018.

Salman Khan is already a brand name in Bollywood and it is his name that sells most of his films rather than the story or the acting performances. It is no surprise that most of the brands around India, especially, have tried to associate Salman Khan’s name with their products. He was associated with many brands when he started his career like Hero Honda, Campa Cola, Limca, and Double Bull. He moved away from using his own name as a brand but has since gone on to become the brand ambassador of Pepsi, travel website Yatra.com, Suzuki motorcycles, along with being the face of History Channel. He also has a number of international endorsements like Dubai-based Splash, Dixcy Scott, and BlackBerry Playbook.

Salman Khan Investments:

Salman Khan owns a host of properties in India. He is the owner of the Galaxy Apartment in Bandra where he lives with his parents, which is one of the most expensive properties that he owns at $2.1 million. Along with this he also owns triplex apartments in another part of Bandra which amount to up to $10 million. Khan recently invested in a 100-acre property in Gorai for a farmhouse which is valued at around $13 million.

He also likes to spend big on vehicles as he owns Audi Q7, Lexus Lx470, Mercedes Benz GL-Class, Audi R8, W221 Mercedes Benz S-class along with a luxury yacht that he bought for himself as a 50th birthday present. Along with all these, Salman Khan also has two production companies.

Salman Khan Personal Life:

Salman Khan has dated multiple Bollywood divas like Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai, Somy Ali, and many more. However, even at the young age of 54, Salman Khan remains unmarried and lives with his parents. He is the son of Salim Khan, an Indian actor who enjoyed a glorious career of his own.

Khan’s career has been marred by multiple controversies, including charges of a hit-and-run in 2002 when he was arrested for rash driving, due to which his car crashed into a bakery killing a person and injuring few others. Since then, the charges have been dropped. He is currently out on bail after being arrested and sent to jail for Blackbuck hunting and an appeal is still pending regarding the case. Salman Khan was also accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai who claimed that Khan could not come to terms with their break up.
