Selena Gomez’s Chin-Length Bob Is Back, Baby — See Video

For Selena Gomez, 2021 seems to be the year of making bold statements with her hair. In April of 2021, the Rare Beauty founder and actor dyed her hair blonde, which her colorists said took eight hours. Fast forward nearly six months later, and Gomez has now cut her hair into a blunt bob.

She revealed her latest hair transformation with two TikTok videos on Tuesday, October 19. In the first video, Gomez shows off her new cut while announcing a watch party for her show Only Murders in the Building. Meanwhile, Gomez’s second TikTok shows her pretending to answer the phone. From the looks of it, much of Gomez’s blonde strands from her April hair color transformation seemed to have faded, but we’re not mad about it.

Gomez is not the first celebrity this year to opt for a bob. Elizabeth Olson, Kourtney Kardashian, Billie Eilish, and Kaia Gerber  —  to name just a few  — have made the cut as well. However, this style is not something new on Gomez. In fact, she wore her hair in a below-the-chin bob at the 2019 American Music Awards, but it may be slightly longer than the one she has now.

Whoever is responsible for Gomez’s new cut went to work, and we’re all here for this short, trendy hairstyle on Gomez. For even more short haircut inspiration, check out our roundup of 50 short hairstyles that will make you want to book your next salon appointment ASAP.
